At Murfat Home Child Care (MHCC), our mission is to provide a safe, nurturing, and inclusive home-based learning environment where every child feels secure, valued, and encouraged to grow.

- We celebrate Canada’s diversity and multicultural identity.
- Cultural and seasonal events such as religious holidays, Thanksgiving, Black History Month, National Indigenous Peoples Day, and Winter Holidays are recognized in ways that are inclusive and respectful.
4. Health, Safety & Well-Being
- Safety is at the core of everything we do.
- We comply with the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA, 2014) and O. Reg. 137/15.
- Providers are trained in First Aid, CPR, Safe Sleep, and Child Protection.
- Nutrition follows the Canada Food Guide.
5. Holistic Development
- Programs support physical, cognitive, social, emotional, and moral growth.
- Activities are age-appropriate, engaging, and inclusive.
6. Inclusion, Equity & Diversity
- All children, regardless of ability, language, or family background, are welcomed and included.
- Individualized support plans are created when needed.
7. Lifelong Learning & School Readiness
- Children are prepared for kindergarten and beyond through literacy, numeracy, and social readiness.

Developmental Objectives
- Physical: Support gross motor skills (rolling, crawling, standing).
- Cognitive: Build curiosity through sensory exploration and object permanence.
- Language: Encourage babbling, simple words, and sound recognition.
- Social/Emotional: Build trust and security with responsive care.
Program Strategies
- Routine-based learning: feeding, diapering, and naps are learning opportunities.
- Sensory play: soft toys, rattles, textured fabrics, mirrors.
- Music & movement: lullabies, finger rhymes, gentle rocking.
- Outdoor walks: stroller rides for fresh air and sensory exposure.

Compliance Checklist – Infant Program
- Cribs meet Health Canada safety standards.
- Infants placed on their backs to sleep (CCEYA safe sleep requirement).
- Daily sanitization of rattles, soothers, and teething toys.
- Written log of feeds, naps, and diaper changes shared with parents.
- Ratios maintained (maximum 2 infants per provider).
- Fire drill evacuation cribs available for non-walkers.
Toddler Program
Developmental Objectives
- Physical: Improve balance, running, and climbing.
- Cognitive: Introduce early problem-solving, shapes, and colors.
- Language: Expand vocabulary, begin two-word sentences.
- Social/Emotional: Learn to share, take turns, and express needs.
Program Strategies

- Gross motor play: tricycles, push/pull toys, climbing structures.
- Art & sensory: playdough, finger paints, water/sand play.

Compliance Checklist – Toddler Program
- Provider-to-child ratio never exceeds.
- Handwashing routine taught before meals and after toileting.
- Outdoor play minimum 2 hours daily (weather permitting).
- Biting/behavior incidents documented and communicated.
- Parent updates logged daily (food, naps, activities).
- Safety gates, plug covers, and corner guards in place.
Preschool Program
Developmental Objectives
- Physical: Develop coordination (jumping, skipping, throwing).
- Cognitive: Prepare for school readiness (counting, sorting, problem-solving).
- Language/Literacy: Encourage storytelling, rhymes, letter recognition.
- Social/Emotional: Build friendships, empathy, and cooperation.

About CWELCC
The Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care (CWELCC) program is a joint initiative by the Government of Canada and the Province of Ontario. Its purpose is to:
- Lower child care fees for families with children under 6 years old.
- Increase access to licensed child care spaces.
- Ensure quality and inclusion across all licensed programs.
Murfat Home Child Care (MHCC) is an approved CWELCC provider. This means families automatically benefit from capped $22/day fees while still receiving high-quality, nurturing, and licensed child care.

- Attend a parent consultation and meet the provider.
- Provide your child’s immunization record, health card, and emergency contacts.
- Sign the MHCC Parent Agreement, which includes CWELCC fee reductions and policies.
